WELCOME TO THE OLD EPSOMIAN LODGE
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.
Its roots lie in the traditions and ceremonies of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. Some rituals are still celebrated today.
The Old Epsomian Lodge owes its historical affiliation to The Royal Medical Benevolent College, now know as Epsom College, founded by Dr. John Propert, in 1853.
Our Lodge continues to maintain strong ties with The College, holding at least one meeting per year in the Main Hall. The Lodge also awards the Citizenship Prize every year to one outstanding student, be it a boy or girl, whose innate character displays the qualities on which Freemasonry is founded.
Whilst much of The Lodge’s membership is made up of former students, we are first and foremost an ‘open lodge’ and welcome members from all walks of life and across the globe.
